FILM

As a filmmaker, Gavin discovered his passion for storytelling at his high school’s film academy, where he graduated with hands-on experience in every stage of production. While he has directed and written projects, his primary focus has been post-production, serving as lead editor, sound designer, and score composer. With a strong eye for light and detail, he also brings stories to life through precise stylistic editing and immersive sounds.

MOON DOGS

Moon Dogs is a 40-minute period-piece thriller/drama co-written and co-directed by Gavin and Alexander Hanline during the winter of 2025. The film takes place in the desolate setting of a small, rural town in Arkansas and follows the eerie trace of a missing person’s disappearance and hints at possible supernatural or extraterrestrial forces on the verge of terrorizing the town. With long stretches of silence tension and dead winter in the Ozarks, Moon Dogs evokes the dread of emptiness and the low-grade stress of frightened people, and town coming apart at suspicion and fear.

Apart from co-writing and co-directing, Gavin defined most of the completed film’s character. He composed a full-length original score and served as the film’s single editor. His sound design and pacing additions elevate the mood, creating a compelling experience in which silence, tension, and the uncanny linger that sits with you throughout the film.
